This is a site to explore the ancestors of Nigel Gaspar 1948.
I met him on a visit to Armenia in September 2018 and offered to delve into his Armenian roots.
He is descended from Calcutta Armenians on his paternal side ( Old Julfa -New Julfa ~1606 & then New Julfa to Madras & Calcutta by 1820s , Rangoon, Darjeeling, & Beguserai as merchants & lawyers) and Bombay Parsees on his maternal side
Nowdays there are hardly 100 Armenians in India, mostly in Kolkota, where the Armenian College still functions. But there are ~10000 Armenians still in New Julfa
