Full Abstract :  Probate of the Will of Jane Lyons late of 1 Aldervale Cavehill-road Belfast Widow who died 15 January 1901 granted at Belfast to James Lyons Grocer.

Details: Provisions to be made to the settlement of any legacies if any left unpaid at my death of the several sums left to my sons according to the will of their father my late husband Wm. Lyons of Newbliss.

I leave all my property to my son James Lyons, Cavehill Rd Aldervale in the City of Belfast, that I may die possessed of...

I appoint said son James Lyons my executor.

With regard to the sum of fifty pounds left in my charge for my son Henry Lyons by his father's will and who had not up to this date been heard of, should he not turn up to claim said sum in reasonable time, I desire that the said sum be divided equally between my other two sons, Alex Lyons at present in Australia and John Lyons at present in America and paid to them...

... In witness whereof I have signed my name by making my mark this eleventh day of January 1901.

Signed Jane Lyons X her mark
Witnesses Richard Lyons, Alexander Keating?

I feel that this Richard Lyons witnesss was her son( even though he had not been mentioned in the 1887 Will of her husband).

Also, interesting that Jane could not write although she had married into a middling prospering family

Where is she buried??

Annie is not so sure:
Who was Richard Lyons and why was he a witness on Jane's 1901 will? Could he be a relative, maybe a grandson? Was he a son of Henry or John Lyons who went to America? Could be.  I searched for him and found that he was born about 1860-1861 in Boston, but came to no conclusions. There were several "Richard Lyons" born in Massachusetts 1850s-1860s, and some had parents born in Ireland. But Boston was a HUGE emigration city for the Irish.
