Thomas F Davies 1890 - 1944
I had to decide "where was he born" ? 23/5/1890 He could be Thomas Francis born Stepney Jun or Thomas Frederick born Pembroke Jun of 1890 . From the 1911C , decided Thomas Francis, then a bank clerk in St Albans must be he- & had been told there was no connection with Wales
Seemingly no Ancestry tree

1922. Thomas F Davies marries Annie Hughes Hendon Mar 1922. Not on London C of E Marriages- they likely married in a Register Office
He seems to have been known as Jack
1922. Jack and Annie Davies sailed from Liverpool to New York on 18/3/1922 : they named his mother, Mrs S Davies, of Corsuk, Stanley Avenue, Alpenton Park, Wembley as their next of kin
4 further children: Peter, Michael, Ian, and Elizabeth. Their mother "Mops"was a Glaswegian. "My grandfather, Thomas F Davies, was for a long period involved in banking in West Africa- this presumably sometime in the period 1926-1934" from the births of his 4 children . This turns out to be untrue!! - he apparently worked for Westminster Bank in Tenerife for a period in the 1930s, and maybe also in Gibralter
So did his new wife refuse to look after Barbara? Yes in effect, though relationship was surprisingly cordial. Probably started like this when they went (apart from my mother) to West Africa. I - Chris- suspect the truth was that Barbara was stable being looked after by her grandmother, Sarah, and Aunt Catherine/Kukky from 1920-1922 and that there was no reason to uproot her . My mother was quite close to her brothers and sisters, especially Michael and Liz. Peter lived in the Yukon and British Columbia.1924. Sarah Davies, 65, widow, and 5 year old Barbara Davies, sail to Tangier on the Naldera to visit "Jack " and his second family in Gibralter on 25/7/1924

Aged 39, he arrived Plymouth on 24/6/1929 from Teneriffe. His country of last permanent residence was the Canaries, and his future residence was 'other parts of the British Empire'
1923. He, bank manager, address Westcliff on Sea, travelled from London to Gibralter, this his future permanent residence, on 24/8/1923
1924 He travelled from London to Gibralter on 12/12/1924 .

1930. Thomas F Davies embarked Bathurst , ( present day Banjul, Gambia) arrived Liverpool 16/8/1930, travelling 1st Class, Profession Banking from the W C of Africa , address Beechwood Road Sanderstead, Surrey
And Michael C Davies born 1925 Rochford;

Elizabeth Davies born Croydon 1934
My mother's father was present for her Wedding and I think they were in touch through the War till he died in 1944.

Freda, Conrad, David, Barbara, Thomas, Kukky, "Mops" -stepmother, and her Glaswegian mother. 28/5/1938
