David Conoley Davies was born Poplar Dec 1883 - he married Constance D Huggins West Ham Sep 1911 but this not in London C of E marriages . He is in 1911C as a bank clerk, visitor in West Ham , b. Poplar . He is living Woodlands Avenue, Wanstead with wife Constance Dorothy Huggins 1920 -1924 & then in Friern Barnet Road, F.B. N 11 1925-1929 - El. regs But none of this gives me his father!!. But Eureka, there is a marriage of Sarah Ann E Conoley to David Davies Poplar Mar 1880 - but not in Ancestry London C of E Marriages. Also a Fredevans Ancestry family tree- but throws no more light on Sarah

1893. Catherine Mary Davies (Kukky) is born 16/12/1893- reportedly with birth defects/injuries that left her in a wheel chair for life

1901-1911. The family move to Bournemouth as Catherine is said to have attended Bournemouth High School - source?, family lore?

1911C. David Davies, 67, master mariner, b. Cork, Ireland, resident, is living with Sarah Annie Emma Davies, 51 and Catherine Mary Davies, 18, at Boscobel Towers,Boscobel Tower Road, Westcliff, Bournemouth. They are running a boarding house with 22 rooms, 25 people in it, including them . They have been married 31 years, 4 children, all still alive - FMP, but no usual printout

1920. The wife of her son, Thomas F Davies, ,1890, dies, leaving a motherless daughter, Barbara, of just 18 months

Her son seems to have assumed the name Jack! . He remarries early 1922, to Annie Hughes.

1922. "Jack" and Mops Davies sailed to New York on 18/3/1922 : they named his mother, Mrs S Davies, of Corsuk, Stanley Avenue, Alpenton Park, Wembley as their next of kin

1922-1923. Sarah and disabled daughter, Catherine/Kukky, move to St Albans - to look after her grandchild, Barbara Davies . I suspect Barbara was already living with them in Wembley from 1920.

1923. Sarah Davies is in the phone book at Boscobel, Brampton Road, St Albans

1924. Sarah Davies, 65, widow, and 5 year old Barbara Davies, sail to Tangier on the Naldera to visit "Jack " and his second family in Gibralter on 25/7/1924

1938.Her grandaughter Barbara marries L David Sander.

1939 Register . Sarah A Conoley Davies, born 19/6/1859, is living 19 Brampton Rd, St Albans with her married granddaiughter . She is given as single, but is widowed. The granddaughter & husband have actually got their own house in Sandpit Lane, so must be just visiting around 29 September 1939. The information was used to produce identity cards and, once rationing was introduced in January 1940, to issue ration books.
