Summary of the life of Robert Garvie 1812-1893
Born 1812 Perth .Trains as an engineer. Marries in Dundee in 1840 and likely lives there until ~1847 when he moves to Lambeth, London. ~1856 he moves back to Perth. Works as an engineer until ~1880 when he is about 68, and then sets up as a butcher like his son William. Widowed in 1886. But by 1891C, he is again given as a mechanical engineer, living with his son. He dies there in 1893.
