1785. William Garvie ~1760 married Janet Fenwick Perth - FS.
3 possible births for this William, but to a John, Peter & Patrick 1759 - 1762 around Perth - but none of these names are carried on in the family!

1787 A William Garvie was baptised Perth to William Garvie and Jannet Finwick on 19/8/1787. Rhodan Garvie 1790, Robert Garvie 1792, Jean Garvie 1794, Margaret Garvie 1796, David Garvie 1798 also baptised to this couple Perth - FS. Considering family names, with Robert , Janet & Jean occurring in the above family, I am almost certain I have the correct family here . None of Rhodan, Robert or David Garvie would seem to die after 1855 and thus probvide us with a dc giving information on their parents!
1811. A William Garvie married Jean Watt in Edinburgh.
1812. Son Robert Garvie was baptised to William Garvie and Jean Wall 24/5/1812 Perth . This is wrong: his mother was actually Jean Watt . FS .
Other children were : William 1814, Mary 1816 & Janet 1819, Jean Hay Garvie 1829 all baptised Perth. Also a James~1825 but his baptism not on FS . As Hay has not occurred in the above Garvie parents, would expect to see Hay as a family name in Jean Watt's ancestors- now found this ancestor . Also think I have seen it in other Garvies in the Perth PO Directory! - cerca 1858??
1837/8. William Garvie, smith is in the Perth PO Directory at Curfew Row - not located on my map
1841C. Not found. I found a Jean Garvie 10 living with a Cameron family in Blackfriars Wynd : my thoughts are that the enumerator forgot to write down Jean's parents. Also a Margret Hay and a Robert Hay in this street! . . A George Garvie, 55, blacksmith is living 137 High Street Perth , with Bell 55, Thomas 25, William 23, George 20, John 18 & Mary 12. This is obviously not the same family but could well be a brother, but there was not one baptised George!, in the above baptisms .
1845/6 & 1848 William Garvie, smith is in the Perth PO Directory at Blackfriars Wynd - just south of Atholl Street-Charlotte Street
1851C. William Garvie, 64, married, blacksmith is living 72 High Street, Perth with 2 children . Thus born ~ 1787.
| William Garvie | 64 | married . . blacksmith | b.Perth |
| James Garvie | 26 | machine maker | b.Perth |
| Jean Garvie | 21 | domestic duties | b.Perth |
If married, where is his wife?
1852-3 William Garvie, smith is in the Perth PO Directory at Mill Street - house Curfew Row. Mill Street runs EW below Blackfriars Wynd
1854.William Garvie is not in the Perth PO Directory. Thus he must die 1853-1854
He seems to die by 1861C. No dc on SP for a William Garvie 1855-1861, suggesting he died by 1854. Not one for his wife Jean Garvie/Watt either.
