Margaret Isabella Finlay 1863-1911

Daughter of a railway worker, married a Blacksmith

Born in Longhoughton, lived seemingly from age 7 with her maternal grandparents, became a teacher- like her paternal granparents, then moved to Amble when she married in 1889 .

1867. Her father, Thomas J Finlay, a naval Engineer, dies in July in Bombay

1870. Her mother, Alice Finlay, dies Alnwick Dec 1870, stated age 34. Her paternal grandparents, both schoolteachers in Longhoughton, had both died in the 1850s.

An orphan, aged 7, she was raised by her maternal grandparents
