Martin Fitzgerald snr ~1806-1895

Family Tree of one Paul Tobin.  He has it that Martin, father of Nicholas (1848-1923) was born in Athy Co. Kildare in 1806 and died in Waterford in 1895 and was married to Alice Brennan (Brenan), born (1810) in Tipperary and died (1865) in Waterford.  
All of that sits with our view of life , save for the birthplaces.  That tree is full of stuff I wasn’t (fully) aware of, so I think he might be correct.
We were unable to find (with certainty) a birth in Waterford for either Martin or Alice and the rest was speculation – or an educated guess!  Now I’ve come up with a blank for births in Athy/Kildare and Tipperary looking at the usual sites. - NIck. A Martin Fitzgerald, batchelor, 100, died Workhouse Hospital , Tramore in 1887- thus born ~1787

He could be an uncle of Martin ~1806; and a younger brother to the John marrying in 1799

A John Fitzgerald married Anastasia Power on 10/1/1799 in Tramore, and had children: Bridget 1799; Mary 1802; Honor 1805 & John 1809 , but could not find a baptism of aMartin cerca 1806/7 - RI

On Irish Catholic parish registers a Martinus Fitzgerald was baptised on 6/8/807 to Michaele Fitzgerald & Ellena Fitzgerald in Kilrossanty, Waterford, this 10 k NE of Dungarvon : UNLIKELY to be ours, as he didnot call a child Michael or Ellena

1806/7. Martin Fitzgerald born Tramore, possibly, but only a hunch, to John Fitzgerald & Anastasia Power and he did call his 1st daughter Anastasia and his 2nd son John

Cannot find a Waterford marriage of Martin Fitzgerald to Eliza/Alice Brenan 1820-1833

Dunhill Baptismal records start in 1829; Matrimony records in 1836

1841. A Nicholas Fitzgerald was baptised 30/10/1841 in Dunhill - 12k W of Tramore- to Martin Fitzgerald & Eliza Brenan.

5 other Dunhill baptisms to this couple( Eliza changing to Alice/Alicia) : Anastasia 1833; Mary 1835; Brigid 1838; Joanna 1839 & John 1844. Also, 2/12/2021,just found entry of Guilame to Martin Fitzgerald &Alicia Brena on 29/8/1848 in Dunhill

Johanna 1839 went out to Australia, arriving, from Liverpool, in Melbourne on 23/11/1863. She married John Lightly on 18/2/1864 in Victoria- descendant Daniel Curtin has a My Heritage tree . Also on Ancestry trees.Johanna Lightly died 19/4/1924 at Karrakata, Nedlands City, Western Australa . R.C. Last residence Maylands, but formerly of Daylesford. There was probate to Edward Lightly ( her husband , 1830-1904, a colonist of 60 years), total assets 188 pounds - details from records on Ancestry trees

These names give credence to the supposition that his parents were John Fitzgerald and Anastasia Power, and his siblings were Bridget, Mary, Honor & John

. No baptisms in Tramore itself to such a father on RI nor in irishgen

Is the married incorrect: had he remarried or is this not he, but same address as in 1865 ?

I had a note from Betty last night. 17/3/2021, saying she had no first-hand knowledge of anybody from the Tramore clan buried in Dunhill
