Photo Diary for 2014

After a wonderful holiday in Australia, 2014 continued badly with the sad loss of Pembroke Castle and Somerville College Bears in a robbery at Barcelona Airport.

A website was then set up for them, and the blow slightly softened by the arrival of Somerville Bear and Pembroke College Bear- note the slightly different names!.

February saw us visiting June & Mike in Canar, followed by a few days in Malta

In March we went on a week's carribean cruise to St Martin, St Thomas and the Bahamas, courtesy of Park West Art .

In April we enjoyed a meal with Anne and Graham at Ca Pepe, and a meal by ourselves, but Oz came too, at Bon Amb, now of Michelin Star fame.

And on Thursday 24th April, after an interesting Urbanisation AGM at Los Leones, at which David unfortunately became the president for 3 years, we relaxed at Vall del Cavall with Maria, the newly arrived Bill & Ben & friend Tobias

At the end of April, after David had been forced to become President of our Urbanisation ,we had 4 weeks in Bolivia and Argentina

Once back I was persuaded to play in the bridge match against the Vallees on June 7th - JSBSC narrowly winning. Jane and Ed, my faithful chauffeur, came back for a barbecue

And the following Saturday I went by myself to the annual Bridge Club summer party at the Javea Golf Club.... and thoroughly enjoyed it

And a week later Jo came over for 6 days - lots of meals out: DGust, Ca Pepe and after some 'Bridge on the beach' in Javea

The months of May, actually just the last week, & June & July were plagued by the noise and inconsiderate parking of the builders next door. David excelled himself creosoting the boardwalk to the pool - leading to avoidance tactics for a few days to reach the pool, but the boyzz managed it! - , painting the pool shower building and getting a man in to give our palm tree a hair cut

Once back on Spain, a pleasant barbecue at Jackie's and Mike's

In September we visited England for 2 weeks; a week in London seeing friends, researching Irish History in the National Archives for David, then visiting friends near Bath & in Stratford before participating for 4 days in the 50 year on from matriculating at Oxford. England 2014.

We suffered from ill-mannered builders modernising the house next door to us , and the new owners, not here to witness the event, were less than repentant!. What will life bring when/if we are both in residence at the same time??

Then in October, after taking delivery of more stones for the Urbanisation, we were off again to the South Seas for over 6 weeks

Then we spent 24 days in Malta over Christmas and New Year
