1907. Roberta Garvie McKendrick was born to Robert Garvie Mckendrick, butcher, and Annie Mason Mclellan on 16/11/1907 at St. Andrews Road, Moorpark, Renfrew. Parents married 12/12/1899, Glasgow
1904-5 & 1906-7 & 1907-8. Cannot find her father in the Paisley Directory & General Advertiser. Thus family had only just moved to Renfrew from Galashields where Jessie was born in 1905.

Roberta attended Moorpark Public School and received the following certificate on 6/2/1922, probably around the time she left school, aged 14+.

1929. Roberta McKendrick, 21, marries William Muir, 29, on 29/3/1929 in Hammersmith . Marriage was by license - so one of them likely not in London until the last moment.
They have 2 children: Graham Muir 1934 and Jean Muir 1935, both born in Southall Mddx.

Her life then follows that of her husband. Photos on his page. The decision to move back to Renfrew in the 1970s was hers - she wanted to be near her sisters.

From a local paper cutting:MUIR - At Garthland House, Paisley, on 9th February 1982, ROBERTA McKENDRICK, beloved wife of the late William Muir. 18 Findhorn Avenue, Renfrew. Funeral service at Woodside Crematorium, Paisley tomorrow [Friday] at 2pm: to which all friends are invited: no flowers, please.
