Anna Maria Arden 1812-1883
Jan MacFarlane Ancestry tree- no parents found here - or in any other tree - either for her
1812. Anna Maria Arden born Islington to parents unknown . ( 1 year too early for Ancestry London baptisms! ; did not find any other Arden baptisms 1813-1823 in Middlesex but could be/ likely catholic anyway); not found on Ancestry/FMP/FS . Nothing on her birth or marriage on FMP Newspapers
(The 'fact' that she was at least 19 on 12/10/1830 would give her born after 12/10/1811 and before 12/10/1812!)
There is a John Arden, Blackmore Street, Clare market, grocer, who goes bankrupt in 1812. Also a Catherine Arden,1787-1791, laundress, seemingly widow, in the 1841C with son William, 1817-1821, living Boston Place, Marylebone, Middlesex. A John Arden, 60, buried Spitalfields on 25/3/1851 . Catherine Emma Arden, 81, buried St Geo. 1875: she in 1851C & 1871C, seemingly wealthy! . But, anyway, she had no parent alive by her marriage in 1830
No Arden marriage around Middlesex 1790 -1812 . Think they must have been Catholics or Arden was not Anna Maria's surname: but it is indeed on the 1844 bc of son, Thomas Gresham !
1830. Anne Maria Arden, 19-20, of the parish of St James, Clerkenwell, married William Gresham ( St Andrews Holborn) on 12/10/1830 in St.Jas Clerkenwell - Ancestry, also Pallott's Marriage index. Licence application on William's page gives her age as 19-20 & states that she has no parent or guardian living .
