Hugh Roberts 1797- 1865 . Occupation - Sawyer
This page could be the life of the father, Hugh Roberts, , sawyer, of the Mary Roberts who married John Stanley - But I cannot prove it! and the presence of a daaughter Mary born ~1845 to this Hugh makes me very dubious!
Do not think I can go any further with Hugh Roberts: it is just such a common name that there could be at least 3 with the occupation of Sawyer living around Betys Coed ~1820
~1820. Mary Roberts was born to Hugh Roberts, sawyer,- this from her 1842m.c. - & ? Catharine , around Bettws y Coed . Have not found her baptism - this would be very useful, as it would show whether her mother was this Catherine!
1841C. A Hugh Roberts, 48, sawyer, is living Bay Horse Lane, Liverpool with wife Catherine & 3? children, another Catherine 12,not born in Lancashire . Odd that there are 2 Catherines in this within 5 years of each other, aged 12 & 17. Not sure this is the correct Hugh!- he is a sawman, but is this enough proof?? Feel the presence of a Mary Roberts, 7, given as daughter, in 1851C heavily detracts from my assumption!!
