1853. James Pinkerton, aged 19, enlisted in the RIC, height 5' 10'', number 17088. He was posted to Wicklow 1853, then Kilkenny, then Leitrim, Dublin in 1862, Belfast in 1877- for just 6 mths- and back to Dublin 1877. At end of his record states that he was not promoted- - several records of his service on FMP RIC Records & RIC Pensions;
