Edward (Henry) Duke Mahony ~1810 - (1853-5)

Draper with a warehouse on South Main Street. At one time in the late 1840s, like many traders, he issued trade tokens known as farthings.

1839. Edward Duke Mahony married Rebecca Duck.- gary acheson . She was the daughter of Thomas Duck, an Armagh born woolen and linen draper who had moved to Cork in the early 1800s. Street directories of the time show him with a "woolen and Manchester (corduroy) warehouse” in Paul St and later premises in South Main Street.

1844? Mary Mahony was born to Edward & Rebecca : her 1860 m.c. reportedly gives her father's name as Henry D Mahony- FMP Irish Marriages

1853. Edward D Mahony claimed damaged for vandals breaking his window panes, his address then North main Street

Edward was dead by 1855 for in that year Rebecca Mahony - marriage on Irish Civil Records, 4th qtr, 1855 - married Edward's erstwhile business partner in the premises at 62, North Main St, William Heard
