Do not follow the offspring of Jane, maybe the offspring of one of her sons, but not Jacob Wolfe as the chart would suggest

I believe in the tradition of West Cork Protestants where first cousins often married ( especially in the Jennings family )......Margaret could have been the daughter of Barnabas and Jane? As you know the church records were burnt so I cannot confirm the relationship which still leaves me with the mystery of the Ellis name- my grandfather's name ( last name common in Drinagh) .
I have been in contact with Gary and we thought Elizabeth was the sister of Charles as he is listed in the 1828 will and in the tithes for Corran, Griffiths and I have records of his funeral church service in Leap and his burial in Dunmanway in 1885 ( His gravestone lists his wife and I have records of their marriage in Kilmeen in 1819 )
I am fascinated by the old Jennings ( I have 3 of the Jennings books ) family tree - Barnabas - William (1695-1798 aged 103 ) and John Jennings(1667-1704) ( m Diane Fuller ( where and when ...lots of Fullers in Bandon) You have John dying in Bath ....I always thought the Jennings came from Wales but realise Wales is very closeby.
Can you explain how John came from Bath to Bandon ( is this following the Rainsboro ( Cromwellian grantees 1642)? Was there a connection between Rainsboro and the Jennings? I know from reading old letters written by the Eedy family from New Brunswick which suggested the Eedy family connection to the Cromwellian plantation. The Eedys are listed on land transactions with the Hewitts and in the church records in Rosscarbery.
We have plenty of skeletons in the family history but I was fortunate to meet up with some of the Jennings in Killinga, Leap and but together some of the stories as my great grandfather's( John Charles) ( brother William married Sarah Jennings- his son Allen ( Church of Ireland missionary in Africa - his son, in turn, Cyril was also a Church of Ireland minister and died in Bangor, NI.
Anyway, enough ramblings ...if you would like to collaborate and see if we can work out the Jennings - please email me?
Kindregards
Una
Another contact was from Denis Hosford in January 2023
My Great Grandfather was John Hewitt Hosford (1853 - 1935) from a townland called Kilnagnady, near Brinny, outside Bandon.
His parents were Benjamin Hosford (1810 - 1880) who in 1848 married Margaret Ann Jennings.
Margaret Ann Jennings came from Courtmacsherry, County Cork. She had two brothers Barnabas Jennings and John Hewitt Jennings.
Her father was John Hewitt Jennings (1788 - 1871). Her mother was Mary Wiseman (just confirmed to me this afternoon by a 4th cousin of mine).
John Hewitt Jenning's (1788 - 1871) parents were most likely Barnabas Jennings and Jane Hewitt.
The name 'Hewitt' has been passed down through generations as a middle name in our family. Some time ago, I established that it came from the 'Jennings' side. It would now seem as if the Jennings got it from Jane Hewitt's family.
I hope the following family tree diagrams may help explain things further. The second diagram is based on the information appearing in your brother-in-law's chart.
The link to Durrushistory was probably unnecessary. It mentions a number of Jennings and simply confirms the marriage of Barnabas Jennings and Jane Hewitt on 22 November 1781.
In exploring the Jennings family's birth, marriage, and death records, I continuously come across familiar names from a family in Drinagh between Dunmanway and Clonakilty including a Barnabas Jennings. The following link is a historical account of emigrants from one such family, which may be of interest to you especially the historical background on pages 4 to 5 and the family mentioned on page 27. Perhaps you have already seen this?and a his clear family tree is in Rainsbury emails 25/1/2023 Hosford
