Barbara & Susan?? - did you meet him?? Send me your memories PLEASE

1956.  Charlie & Mary Ann lived in Braughing, near Ware, Hertfordshire .- Barbara went there, just the once . Donald West also visited with his wife and 3 sons

I remember her in bed in Braughing, near Ware, Herts, when we visited in about 1955 - she was deaf (had an ear trumpet, which terrified me) and bedridden with osteoporosis, but her mind was still razor-sharp.  That was in a sizeable farmhouse, as far as I remember.

1957. Mary Ann Beat dies, aged 82- familysearch tree - Bishops Stortford Sep 1957 - no probate. Buried in Braughing Churchyard. As is also daughter Phyllis

Charlie then went to live with his daughter/step daughter Mary

1968. James C J Beat , aged 85, , died Waltham Forest Jun 1968 - no probate. Buried in Braughing Churchyard.

Looked up FMP Newspapers for obituaries- no

When Charlie died he left his pocket watch to his stepson Donald (my father) and left £80 to each of the next generation of boys: Michael and Philip Bennett (Rose's sons), David West (George's son) Brian Edwards (Connie's son) and Clive and me (Donald's sons) My brother Adrian now deceased, received nothing, but my father, Donald, bequeath him Charlie's pocket watch - subsequently "pawned" several times and lost to the family. Everything else went to Mary

Percy West is buried in Manor Park Cemetery. Mary Ann (Martin, West) Beat is buried with Charlie and Phyllis in Braughing churchyard
