1846/7. She was seemingly born Folkestone. No birth on bmd which would seem to include Folkestone!
August 2014 - now not sure if I have the correct Ann Longhurst here!! 1851 census entry shows this Ann as born Folkestone - once married 1871 & 1881Cs show her born Brighton!! There is a bmd birth of Ann Longhurst Lewes Sep 1845 , but she has a father George, and Ann's 1870 m.c. to Charles Gunn definitely says her father is Charles!!. So I think she just said she was born Brighton Sussex as her parents had spent most of their lives in Sussex and she had grown up with them ~1849-1860 in Brighton
And 1851C, living Garden Street, Lewes.

Where is Thomas 1879/80 who appears in the 1891 & 1901Cs ? I think Nellie should read Thomas, as no 'Nellie' born 1878/80 and neither does one die 1881-1891.
Seems to have been a Nathaniel Thomas Gunn baptised to Charles Edward & Ann Elizabeth 9/2/1879 Brighton: he must be the Thomas in 1891C& 1901C - he marries Mary Potter Jun 1901 : his descendants have a DGunn Family tree on Ancestry
Also on Ancestry Parish Baptism records are Annie Louisa 21/1/1877 baptised to Charles Edward & Ann Elizabeth
1881. Her husband, Charles Edward Gunn dies, 2/9/1881, at 5 Fairlight Place but formerly of 132 London Road, aged 40, Brighton. Probate- effects £85 . His widow , Ann Elizabeth Gunn, the sole executrix.
1884/5 .She would seem to give birth to another son, Frederick Gunn: he appears in the 1891C. His father maybe James Blackman whose first wife does not die until 1886!
Frederick likely takes over his step?father's Fish Shop ~ 1935 after James Blackman's retirement or death - not located in BMD
1887 . Ann Elizabeth Gunn, almost 40, marries James Blackman Brighton Jun 1887
1891C. Ann E Blackman, 43, greengrocer, is living 88 Trafalgar St Brighton with James Blackman, her children Westmer 17, Annie L 14 & Thomas 12, plus a child of his, Joseph Blackman, a mysterious Frederick - I thought incorrectly down as Frederick Gunn, but maybe not. He was born 1884 Jun/Dec, 2 + years before she remarried, but 3 years after her husband, Charles Edward died!!: so, who was the father?? . . & James E Blackman, their joint child. :

1901C. Ann Blackman, 54, is still living 88 Trafalgar St Brighton with her husband, James Blackman, fish merchant, their son James Blackman, & her last legitimate Gunn child, Thomas, a fish salesman . So where is Frederick aged ~16?

1911C. Ann Elisabeth Blackman, 63 , is living 160 Sackville Road Hove, in 6 rooms, with just James, he a fish merchant, employer, and a servant. She has been married 25 years & has had 8 children, 1 of whom has died . We only know of 2 children ,Frederick 1885 James E 1888 ,after the death of her 1st husband, so she must be including her Gunn children with him, of whom we know 5. .

BLACKMAN, Ann Elisabeth | Wife | Married25 years | F | 63 | 1848 | Sussex Brighton

1912, Ann E Blackman dies Steyning Dec 1912, aged 67 - suggesting born 1845 if this age correct . Steyning reg district covers Hove.
Her husband might die as James Blackman , E.Preston aged 78 in 1930. I do not think he is the James E Blackman, aged 91, Brighton 1941, as a James Edward Blackman did exist .
http://www.mybrightonandhove.org.uk/page/brighton_and_hove_revisited tells us that
"102 St. James’s Street became a fishmongers around 1923, when James Blackman set up there.
From 1936 Frederick Gunn fishmonger, took over the shop and remained there for 45 years". He almost certainly the Frederick Gunn aged 6 in 1891C, born ~1884 before James Blackman's first wife had died in 1886, leaving him free to marry Frederick's mother, Ann Gunn . Thus James Blackman certainly the step father of Frederick and very likely his biological father too.
When did Frederick die?- no seeming death on Ancestry 1960-1990!
This Fred 1884 was the younger stepbrother of Charles Edward Gunn 1870- thus a step? great uncle of Vic's, both having the same mother, Ann E Longhurst.
Researching her 2nd husband further back, he married Mary Emma Johnson Brighton 1872: then
in 1881C, at Sussex Street Brighton
James | Blackman | Head | Married | Male | 29 | 1852 | Greengrocer (Master) | Brighton, Sussex, England
Emma | Blackman | Wife | Married | Female | 29 | 1852 | Ironer | Brighton, Sussex, England

Albert H | Johnson | Brother In Law | Single | Male | 16 | 1865 | Hawker Greengrocery | Brighton, Sussex, England |
His wife Mary Emma Blackman dies Brighton Sep 1886 , thus allowing him to marry the widowed Ann Gunn! in 1887
