Tuesday 7th June. Papa Stour and Foula
Pilates, breakfast, a swim and then a zodiac ride at 11 around the fabulous rock formations of Papa Stour: a wondrous experience despite Scott being the zodiac driver.

Lunch, then a massage tester before going ashore at Foula at 3pm with the long hikers. We were soon left behind by them, but that was no trouble Stopped a couple of times by a wall for water and a banana. Loved the Shetland ponies.

Back aboard, a trifle wet, at 5.30. Recap and briefing , then a drink with Martin before dinner in the Terraza.
A zodiac ride at 8.30 to see the bird packed cliffs of Noss; but once we got out of the, relative, calm of the bay there was a swell of 5 feet , so, pointing out the gannet filled high critter, Elizabeth quickly turned our zodiac around and back to protection, then cruising us around the sheltered coast; some seals as well as birds..

Then read for a while, had a siesta and then a prompt, yet lengthy, lunch in the main restaurant for a change. But then our plan to explore Lerwick at 1pm fell apart when we discovered that we were moored over a kilometre from the town!. So, just went out, as booked, on the Spectacular Northmavine tour at 2.15.. This started badly with a 30 minute stop at a jewellery shop: David objected and so did some of the others of the just 17 on the coach.. The guide, Jackie, was quite upset, and at one point was crying. But after a stop at a soulless cafe for coffee and biscuits, it perked up with a walk at the Northmavine coast and a picturesque drive back, including a quick tour of Lerwick town. We were the last ones back, 15 minutes late!.
