Family lore has it that Thomas & Rose had 2 sets of triplets- of whom none survived- ,2 sets of twins- of whom 3 survived-, and several single births, supposedly 13 children . Only 1 set of triplets were registered
Births recorded, all Pontypridd : Phyllis D 1917, Marian, Rose & Thomas 1920, Elizabeth & Margaret Dec 4/9/1921, Iris M & John 1924, Thomas J 1927 , and Mary 1934 married a Bobby Crouch, had a son called Stephen Fisher Crouch
Rose & Thomas died almost at birth, Marian at age 12-15 months: John died almost at birth . So, 6 children survived . Iris & Thomas went to the US- they tried to get their father to visit them out there, getting him a passport, but he never made it.
1939. Thomas & Rose are at 1 Hoddinott Houses, Rhondda with likely 4 of their children [ records closed]. He a coal hewer, born 2/1/1893, she born 29/7/1897. Same address as where Rose was living in 1901C & 1911C . Is this Pentre??
Probably in the 1950s Thomas & Rose moved to Coventry and bought a house there : 227, Lythall's Lane, Foleshill, Coventry
Margaret Edwards 1921, who had married Tony Carhill who died youngish, died as an alcoholic in the late 1990s. She had 2 children: one being Margaret who married a vet, went to Canada and did extremely well. A great row emerged over the house that Rose Edwards owned in Coventry- this being left - on her death in 1995- to daughters Elizabeth & Mary, who had supported Rose after her husband died: daughter Margaret thought it would be left to her
