A week in France 2017

We had seven nights away during our annual pilgrimage to visit Gaynor & Vic, leaving Moraira on July 18.

Lunched at the simple but very friendly Chateau Trillon: delicious mussels, dubious veal cheeks, a good pudd. & a glass of Rayne Vigneau. Then explored the village of Sauternes. Enjoyed 'tapas' for supper on the terrace of Lamothe!

We stayed at LaGuardia on our way home, at the Hospederia de los Parejes in the centre. We arrived on a feast day, so there was a

lot of noise for most of the night. But we enjoyed exploring the town, had a complimentary drink & tapa in the hotel cellars, watched the impressive clock striking 8, failed to find a convivial restaurant so bought a good wine and drank it in the delightful, but unlit, hotel lounge.
