WE also demolished the staircase connecting the Annex to the old rickety/unsafe balcony and installed a new balcony - constructed to support 200 people!! Then we demolished mr Painter's bungalow and built a new house, designed by Gary and built by Jonathan et al, overseen by David. tried for years to get planning permission to replace the Annex- this permission came through in 2007 when we had just accepted an offer to sell!!

The 2007 sale of the hotel and house was delayed due to interfering neighbours seeking to have the building listed: when this was finally rejected, a recession hit and the sale fell through. We eventually sold it in 2012.
