My Hesp aunts put together a book called "Beginnings" full of stories. This is just a bit from page 1 to give you an idea of the detail. The story goes on to describe the home John Williams built, his standing in the community, his marriage, children, etc.
"John Williams born 1791-1881, in Merionethshire, North Wales. He was a devote Welshman reading his Bible with great care and living up to his Christian faith in a God-fearing, sober manner.
John and his brother David came to Canada, from North Wales in 1821 and were unable to speak one word of English. John boasted that he would not marry until he could support a wife.
He was not a wealthy man, but he purchased 200 acres of land in 1825 for 75 pounds in Vaughan. He was the second settler west of the Humber River. He purchased 350 acres in the tract called "Clergy Reserve", undeveloped bush land and meadow." _
I need other extracts from this book PLEASE . The book was seemingly compiled from the diaries of Nellia Frances Agar/Hesp 1896-1968: if she knew this about her great grandfather, then presunmably there are more deatails about her grandparents and parents?? _______________________________________________________________________________________________________
