1805. John Constance was baptised Longhope, Glocs, to John Constance and Hannah Daw on 13/9/1805. His father was a shoemaker by 1841. Longhope ~10 m W of Gloucester

1828-1835. John Constance marries Ann Lydia Constance, born Longhope too ~1808 -1811 . Contacted a Richard, Genes - July 2014 - to see if he had found the surname of Ann Lydia, but since realised it was Constance . No marriage on Ancestry, FMP or IGI. But, an Ann Lydia Constance was baptised 28/6/1807 in Longhope to Theophilus and Mary Constance , so reckon this could well be she! And that John Constance did indeed marry Ann Lydia Constance

1851. . 2nd quarter Lydia Constance was born to John Constance and Ann Lydia Constance Westbury on Severn . Thereafter this child is referred to as Ann Lydia Constance

1861C. John Constance, 56, boot & shoe maker, is living with Ann Lydia, 53, seamstress,and 3 children, in St Michael, Gloucester. Found on Ancestry, obviously mistranscribed on FMP . He had obviously learnt this from his father, who was a shoemaker in 1841 & 1851, dying in 1856 - likely he took over that business, though venue has changed from Longhope to Gloucester

1861. John Constance likely dies Gloucester Dec 1861- no burial on FMP

1871C. .His widow, Ann L Constance , 60, widow, is living Kingsbury St Catherine, Gloucester, with youngest daughter Annie, 20, machinist

1873.His widow, Ann Lydia Constance died Gloucester March 1873, aged 61
