1803. Andrew Black was baptised on 23/1/1803, born 15/1/1803, Pittenweem, to Andrew Black & Margaret Bayne .- FS & SP?. They married 8 months later, on 20/9/1803 in Pittenweem -FS, & SP, not on FMP . Very odd the 8 month gap between the birth and their subsequent marriage !!

Other children baptised to Andrew & Margaret were: Alexander 1809 and Isobel 1811

Margaret Bayne/Black died Pittenweem on 27/1/1823

An Andrew Black, 70, died Pittenweem on 3/1/1824. If he were the Andrew who married Margaret Bayne, then he was ~49 at the marriage and could have been previously married - but no death of a female Black in Pittenweem in 1803 shown on SP!

Pittenweem is 2-3k SW of Anstruther

1838. Andrew Black marries Alison Lees on 26/1/1838 Pittenweem- SP FS, IGI, FMP & Ancestry, no parents given. No mention in FMP Newspapers

Andrew & Alison had the following 6 children: Alison Richie Black 1839; Margaret Bains Black 1840; Andrew Black 1843; Ann Bains Black 1846; Marjory Black 1848; & Betsey Lees Black 1853.

1854. Andrew Black, 51, died 10/10/1854 Pittenweem- SP parish register, will not have any details on it!. Alison thus left a widow with 5/6/children aged 1- 15. [ not sure if Marjory 1848 survived] . Nothing on FMP Newspapers

 

His son, Andrew Black 1844, agriculturalist, farmer at Kirklatch, likely died 1913- FMP Newspaper obituary, buried in Pittenweem Cemetery, his brother in law, John Ross ( who marries his sister, Annie, in 1874 in New York) , a pall bearer.
