Samuel and Susan had the following 10 children, born 1859 to 1880:
1. Susan Alice Keene 1859-1933 She married a Frank Wilkinson and died in 1933.
2. Amy Keene 1860-19. She married her first cousin, one Charles Vernon Peacock Keene, 1850-1933, he the son of Charles Hansard Keene, an elder brother of Samuel Wolfe Keene,, and they had Susan Clara Agnes Keene 1886-1981, who, in turn, married Theodore Stephen Bliss in Launceston 1908, and they were living at Tamar View, Gulworthy in 1939. The properties on either side of it were Lower Leaze and West Gulworthy Farm: these may help locate it on an Ordnance survey map. Theodore S Bliss, born 1880, is a chartered surveyor. There is an Avrielle E Bliss born 1908 and a Anthony Bliss born 1937- maybe the kid who pushed David into the lily pond? when he stayed there with his mother- and brother?- in ~1944 ? When Theodore died 1954 he was living Mill Lodge Sydenham Damerel Tavistock and he left £6900 to his widow; probate did not give his occupation. . Susan C A Bliss died at the same address in 1981, leaving £53000
1939 Register . Theodore and Susan A Bliss were living at living at Tamar View, Gulworthy

Arthur F Bliss, born Birmingham 1912 to a mother Chambers, his father likely a John F Bliss, married an Ida V F Burgoyne in 1936 and Anthony 1937 was their son. So Avrielle??, another name for Ida??
Think this proves that Anthony C Bliss 1937 was only distantly related to Theodore S Bliss!!!. Maybe another evacuee, from Birmingham
In the 1911C, Stephen Bliss, surveyor, sub land agent, a worker in land management, was living Penlee Glanville Road Tavistock, Tavistock, Devon, in 8 rooms and with 2 live in servants

David thinks that Susan was married to someone who was the factor/estate supervisor/ mines supervisor for one of the big landowners in the district, possibly the Duke of Bedford. His recollection is that their house was located at Gulworthy or possibly Gunnislake, both small communities to the west of Tavistock. August 2022 he had lunch in the rather up-market hotel and restaurant, which reminded him of the Bliss house, called the Horn of Plenty, in Gulworthy.
David's father, Edward 1912, and Susan 1886 were half 1st cousins, both having the same grandfather,. Samuel Wolfe Keene, but different grandmothers.
3. Grace Keene Baptised 28/12/1861 in St Peter, Hammersmith, to Sanuel Wolfe Keene, gentleman, and Susan. Their address :. Stratheden Villa, Hammersmith, Died as Grace Turner, widow, on 17/5/1939 at Marlow House, Portsmouth Road, Kingston on Thames, leaving £4500, Emily Grace Bunford Finney being one of her executors
She married ,Kingston Jun 1891, ( not in a C of E- was he Jewish?) Isaac Bunford Samuel, born 1827, so 35 years older then she! . David believes she became Mrs Cooper Turner and indeed, after Samuel's death in 1905, she remarried Fredeick C Turner Steyning 1912. . She and Isaac Bunford Samuel and had 3 daughters, Etta and Emmy & Susan May .Emily Grace B Samuel was born Kingston Jun 1892 & Henrietta Bunford Samuel was born Kingston Dec 1893. & Susan May B Samuel Kingston Jun 1896 but who died, aged 0, Kingston Mar 1897
David has a very worn copy of the Evening Standard of 22 June 1955, reporting a criminal court case of a man who admitting swindling an elderly lady out of £25,000 ( another newspaper article- from FMP Newspapers- can be seen at the bottom of this page) . She was called Henrietta Bunford Samuel, who in 1949 had been living in New Church Road, Hove. I am pretty sure that she is the relative whom l remember being taken to visit in Hove as a small boy. That would be why the press cutting would have been kept. She was known as Etta, and she was patently very well off." Quite what her relationship with my father was I don’t know, but a quick glance at Google reveals that a woman of that name was born in 1893". Her parents were Isaac Bunford Samuel and (?Emily?-NO!! -) Grace Keene . Isaac B Samuel dies 10/11/1905 at Marlow House, Kingston upon Thames. leaving £93000, his widow Grace his executor .No obituary in FMP Newspapers, but details of his will ( almost all to his wife, no mention of his children) on 16/12/1905 and he was 'Late of the Stock Exchange. Grace, 49 and daughter Emily Grace Bunford Samuel, 18, are living in the Burlington Hotel, Dover in 1911C. Cannot find any of the family- parents and 3 daughter, in 1901C - odd
So, Henrietta 1893 was the half niece of David's grandfather, Archibald D W Keene 1885, making her a half 1st cousin to Edward H W Keene 1912, and thus a half 2nd cousin to David W Keene 1941
Isaac Bunford Samuel had been apprenticed to a London Stationer in 1849- certificate on Ancestry
1901C. Marlow House, Anglesea Road, Kingston on Thames. Mistranscribed on FMP!! Actual entry gives Samuel as the surname!!!! The family has 8 servants!

4. Walter Keene 1863
5. Henry A Keene 1866
6. Francis F Keene 1868
7. Isabella Keene 1871-1946. Baptised St Marys Barnes on 24/10/1871, father a cornfactor. Address Barnes. Never married. Lived in Hastings from 1939 until her death in 1946. David thought she lived Hove, but it now transpires that it was Henriett Bunford Samuel - , her niece, see 3. Grace Keene 1861 above - who was swindled and who he visited as a small boy. Can not definitely find Isabella in the 1921C: an Isabella Keene 1867 living in West Ashford, Kent . After her half brother, Archibald D Keene, 1885, died in 1922, she apparently 'cared for' his eldest son, Edward H W Keene, 1912,. She likely paid for him to attend Mill Hill School. She was a witness at his 1937 wedding . She died on 24/1/1946 at 45 Magdalen Road, St Leonards on Sea, Hastings , leaving £ 747: executors Marjorie & Charles Brereton. She was living 31 Carisbrooke Road, Hastings in the 1939 register , seemingly alone: 2 Littlebay sisters were living in 31a Carisbrooke Road
8. Eliza S Keene 1872
9. Blanche F Keene 1876
10. Lily Keene 1880
11. Archibald Douglas Keene 1885, who has a different mother to the other 10 children
1901C. Samuel W Keene, 65, was living Mill Lodge, Lonsdale Road, Barnes, Richmond upon Thames, Surrey, . The family no longer has any live-in servants.
