1800-1811 William Dixon should have married Margaret Lyon
1809. A William Dixon , wright, married Margaret Lyon daughter of John Lyon, servant , on 13/4/1809 Canongate, Edinburgh - SP, image purchased, but actually transcribed as William DiRon!
This surely not the correct marriage as Margaret's 1855 d.c states her father as David Lyon (not John) & also he was a seaman, not a wright. . But, still could just possibly be theirs with the father noted down incorrectly and he being a wright at sea!
1815. James Dixon was born on 9/4/1815 Stonehaven to William & Margaret this from his naval record
William & Margaret had 4 children: David pre 1811, died infancy; William 1812; James 1815 & Margaret, post 1816, died in infancy - info from his wife's 1855 d.c.
Dead certainly by 1851, likely long before . Nothing found on SP in Kincardineshire or Aberdeen . SP does not necessarily record deaths at sea.
