1840. Thomas Bradshaw was seemingly born to William & Jane in Padiham on 1/8/1840 . Burnley Sep 1840 .

But he is not baptised until 1844- Padiham 18/1/1844 to just Jane Bradshaw, weaver, date of birth 1/8/1840

his father, William Bradshaw, possibly dying Burnley Dec 1843: this d.c would confirm, or not, - by the age- that it could be the correct one and give his occupation. No burial in all Lancashire on LOPC 1838-1843!!- and 4 deaths in just 1843 in Lancashire - thus proving that LOPC is very incomplete!

But no burial in Padiham or nearby- LOPC

1841C. Thomas Bradshaw, 10 mths, is living with his mother. Jane, at Gate End Whalley. Census does not state married/widowed

Jane Bradshaw Female 36 1805 Lancashire, England

Ann Bradshaw Female 14 1827 Lancashire, England
Mary Bradshaw Female 11 1830 Lancashire, England
Thomas Bradshaw Male 0 1841 Lancashire, England
Mary Wilkinson Female 13 1828 Lancashire, England

1843.Burnley Dec- this is the only Burnley death for William Bradshaw late 1839 onwards- thus guess he was just missing from home on the 1841C- but no burial in Padiham or nearby- LOPC- but this proven to be incomplete!

Padiham is a small town on the River Calder, about 3 miles (5 km) west of Burnley and south of Pendle Hill. It is part of the Borough of Burnley but also has its own town council.

The name Padiham is derived from the Anglo-Saxon personal name Padda and an ingaham suffix. The first recorded mention of the town, as 'Padyngham', dates from 1294. In the Inquisition of Henry de Lacy taken Feb 16th 1311 it is spelt Padiham.
