1. JAMES Muir 1824-1886. died in Scotland?
Born 29/11/1824 in Greenock. In 1851C, he is a Tinsmith. He married Euphemia Moffat on 26/3/1852 in Greenock West, she born 7/9/1828 in Greenock to James Moffat & Euphemia McMillan.
James & Euphemia had 9 children:

7. John McMillan Muir b. 22/8/1864 Dumbarton. He married Kate Emma Webb 9/10/1896 in Islington. They had: i]. John Sidney Muir b.1897 Peckham, died 1955 HMAS Barwon. ii]. Euphemia Monica Moffat Muir, born 1899 Peckham, died~1986 Sydney. iii]. Ivy Mabel Muir, born 1901 Southwark, died 1903 Camberwell . iv]. David Herbert McBurnie Muir, b.1903 Dulwich, d. 1970 Heidelburg, Vic. David married Victoria Churchill and they had Jennifer Muir, now Heffernan 1946 who did a lot of this research! -Thanks! John & Kate must have emigrated to Australia with their 2 sons & 1 daughter before 1912. He died 1912 Perth. She died 1964 Sydney.

3. ROBERT Muir 1828-1912. Emigrated to Melbourne 1853
Born 24/10/1828 in Greenock. He married Helen Morton 31/12/1857 in N.Melbourne, she born 8/3/1823, Galston, Ayshire to Thomas Morton & Mary Wilson. In 1851C, he, a joiner, was still living at 10 Bearhope Street Greenock with his parents and 3 brothers. He arrived in Melbourne Australia in 1853, likely on the 'Malabar' . He continued as a carpenter there. He died 18/10/1912 at his daughter's home in Nathalie, Vic.
In the Argus on 19 Oct 1912:
MUIR - On the 18th October, at his daughter's residence, "The Wattle, " Nathalia, Robert, the dearly beloved
father of Robert Muir, Mrs. M. Hawker, Mrs H. Bryant, and Miss A. Muir, aged 83 years. A colonist of 59
years. Peace, perfect peace.
She died 3/4/1903 in Nathalia, Vic. Vic. Robert & Helen had:

He married Ivy Jean Caldwell in 1932 in Presbyterian Church, Nathalia. Henry & Ivy Muir had Allan Hawker Muir, b. 1933, Ian David Hawker 1936- 1980, Graeme Hawker & Bruce Hawker iv]. Robert Morton Hawker b. 1901 Waaia. Died 1972 Maryborough Vic. He married Ailsa Mary Ritch 1929-1994. He was a farmer. Robert & Ailsa had : a]. David John Hawker,1930-2009, who married Elizabeth Muriel Payne in 1953 in Bendigo and they had Alison. b]. Robert Keith Hawker 1931- 2004, c]. Margery Mary Hawker, 1936-1992, married Edward Flynn 1961& d]. Ailsa Caroline Hawker 1941, married Graeme Hawkins 1963.

4. David Muir 1830 - ???
Born 1830, Greenock. In 1851C, he is a Baker, still living with his parents in Greenock. Married Janet Duncan 1860 Renfrew. David & Janet Muir had: Robert Muir b. 1861 , Charles Muir 1863, David Muir 1864, James Muir 1866 & Thomas Muir 1868, all born Old Kilpatrick, Renfrewshire In 1861C, a ship carpenter, aged 32, lining Ferry Road Head, Renfrew, with wife Janet & son Robert, 3 mths. In 1871C, living Bairds Land, Old Kilpatrick, aged 40, ship carpenter, b.Neilston, with his wife & 5 sons, aged 10, 8, 7, 5, & 3. In 1881C, aged 52, carpenter, living with his wife & 4 sons, James not being there, in Old Kilpatrick- Robert & david being ships carpenters, Charles a pattern maker. By 1891C, his wife seems to have died and he,62, carpenter is just living with Janet Duncan,16,niece, housekeeper, at 7 Clyde Trust Bldgs, Dumbarton Road, Old Kilpatrick . Have not found hm in the 1901C.
5. John Muir 1834- May die between 1841 & 1851.
6. William Muir 1840 - ??? May die between 1841 & 1851.
