Isle of Man

Monday, May 30th. Port St Mary, Isle of Man
Went ashore at 8.30 and explored a bit whilst waiting for the coaches to take us to the steam railway at Port Erin. Arrived there with 40 minutes to spare so wandered down to the nearby coast. Then a 30 minute ride through uninteresting countryside to Castletown, but the 1910s train and steam engine were worth seeing!. A tour round the 11th century Castle Rushen , climbing 100 narrow, circular steps to its roof, before being left in the centre of town for 50 minutes. The town itself was picturesque but it contained very few shops. The town was noisy with the motor bikers, gearing up for the annual Isle of Man TT.

Just back aboard in time for lunch and then had a swim; the air temperature being icy. Trivia. Had a special bottle of wine, Viega Sicilia 2014, in the restaurant-
