In January 1998 we went to Koh Samui, staying for a week each in the Imperial Boathouse and in the White House

In August the Omagh bomb exploded killing 28 people there, including 2 young girls in the Oxfam shop where Joanna worked.( she had been living there for about a year) She was devastated and produced a volume of poetry to raise money for the victims
In November 1998 we went to Penang, the Mutiara hotel
