1993

This was likely the year that we sold Coronation Cottage- financially things were grim, the 1990 recession, ridiculous interest rates, etc, having crippled the business although the hotel had had such good reviews. Americans stopped coming, frightened because the RAF had bombed Libya from Brize Norton, and thus 'the Libyans might bomb Chadlington'! We converted the old dairy house into a bedroom, small wardrobe room and bathroom, for ourselves, and another area, also only accessible from outside, into 2 bedrooms and kitchenette for the children ( when around). Actually during quiet times we would sleep in the luxurious Skylark room, complete with domed ceiling, which was accesible via the back stairs from the hotel kitchen .
Hosted a Vintage car rally and won the best Kitchen in Oxfordshire Award
Seemingly did not have a foreign holiday
