1865. Frederick Cooke was born Knottingley on 30/7/1865 to George Cooke & Mary Wright - their last son . Knottingley ~23 k ENE of Wakefield

He had red hair, was an extremely hard worker, rising early to attend cattle markets all over the West Riding, returning mostly by train about 6.30 pm each day for a meal and a welcome seat in a favourite chair to catch up on the daily newspapers. As a young man he was a butcher and had a smallholding. He built up the business to become one of the largest cattle and pig dealers in the area. He loved County Cricket at Scarborough at a time when Yorkshire were at or near the top of the League.

"Animals for the market were housed on the land there before auction days amongst other work . 
 My father used to talk about the egg custard and bun loaf his mother, Auretta,  baked and however
 hard my mother tried the custard never had enough ‘body ‘ in it!   Father had to ride a bike each morning

1935. Frederick Cooke, 71, died 20/8/1935 , Burneytops West Parade Wakefield . Cannot find this on bmd!!. But it is on FMP, he died, aged 71, Wakefield Sep 1935. Probate £ 23615. No obituary found in FMP Newspapers. His Will was published in February 1936 .
