Andros

Monday 2nd May

The day started with a mandatory Antigen test in the Explorer lounge, efficiently run. Then I played Bridge with Christine, Amy & Mindy in the Observation Lounge until noon. Lunched in the Terraza and went ashore, amidst warnings of bumpy conditions, to Andros Island, Bahamas . After a wet ride we landed at Regatta Beach where awnings and chairs had been set up for us, plus a grandstand blaring out Caribbean music; also free cocktails, some food stalls, some handicraft stalls,  a regatta of 4 sailfish and, of course, a scenic beach. There was a strongish, coldish wind, so the swimming was not so idyllic as on Sunday; nevertheless I went in twice. We enjoyed an excellent rum punch, a Mojito, some conch food and  a passion fruit drink. And had a good walk along the beach before enduring a tortuous return Zodiac trip with Robin: but all the other 11 passengers and Robin found  the drenching hugely amusing: I just kept my head down, and eventually we were safely disembarked onto the ship .

Our new butler, Kailash, came to reassure us about the morrow´s suite change .

More ´battles ´with Reception as to how our Suite change was to be effected  Then a talk from Lea on the outings  on the way up to Halifax before viewing the Cruise Video- which bore no resemblance to the cruise we had experienced!. Dined inside in La Terraza, talking to couples from Canada/States and to the ex RAF  pair.
