Life in 2019

We were near the end of a voyage on the Silver Discoverer in Aldabra on New Year's Day.
.
Then stayed 12 days in the Seychelles form January 5th until January 18th

Valentine's Day was celebrated by a special tournament & dinner at the Bridge Club

We strayed up into the mountains one day to admire the annual almond blossom
Next was a quick trip to Oxford to seek a second opinion on my knee at the end of February
On our return we enjoyed a glass of cava & icecream cake at Carol's wondrous new house

JBC had its AGM on March 16th and this was followed by a light lunch & then a tournament
Then on March 18th we flew to Sicily
Followed by 11 days in Malta

and then the Easter Tournament at JBC
In May we had 5 nights away in Teruel Province, Spain
And a Dutch Supper at JBC on May 16th
Ted and Cilla came to dinner one night - I was able to cook meat!

Then, after an absence of 3 years, another trip to Ireland, from Galway up to Donegal along the Wild Atlantic Way

On June 20th another Ladies Ascot Day was held at JBC
and a week later Peter & Esther Haywood gave an exhibition of their amazing quilts at JBC, our 52nd wedding anniversary

And we ended up the month by going to see Donizetti's Lucia de Lammermoor at the Valencia Opera con Jessica Pratt y Alessandro Luongo . El opera fue basado en la novela 'The Bride of Lammermoor' de Walter Scott. Descubri Fraser (con su esposa Pauline) en la silla al lado de la mia. Y tambien encontramos Mark y Eric.
Also had lunch with Marie in Zensatez and played bridge with her at JSBSC in the Parador

July saw us heading for Cordoba & Seville for a 4 night break

In August we set off on our annual pilgrimage to the Gunns, staying in Ezcaray en route to 3 nights in Cognac, then 2 nights with Gaynor & Victor before 2 more nights in Brinas, Rioja
And straight back to the big money JBC Bridge Tournament- never again!
David got a new camera and initiated it by recording my floodlight swims

David's birthday in September saw us returning to France, this time for a hedonistic 4 days at Chateau Castigno in the film set village of Assignan, near Narbonne
A supper for the Barrow Bridge Club on September 26th
Lunch with Anne & Carol at Tapas Es Ti

Then 4 whole weeks of luxury on the Silver Explorer from Fort Lauderdale through the Panama Canal to Guayaquil in October-November
and back to the Lena Whiteley Tournament, which JBC won overwhelmingly against JSBSC : Maria & I were in a team with Liz & Roy- came 2nd

Then Nick had a 70th birthday bash and the JBC got decorated for Christmas and there was a Christmas party there, and a Christmas lunch up at the Vallees
We took off for 24 days in Malta on December 14th
